The MLPCCCMD is one of 35 "comprehensive cancer centers" as designated by the National Cancer Institute. It is part of the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, a partnership of the MLPCCCMD, the Michigan Cancer Foundation, and the cancer research and treatment programs of Wayne State University and The Detroit Medical Center.
